Human Resources Manager
Ratio Christi Canada is an evangelism and apologetics student discipleship ministry. We place evangelistic apologists (“Chapter Directors”) at local campuses, high schools, and churches (“chapters”) to regularly serve and work with the young people there, helping them to better understand, share, and defend the Christian faith. Reporting to the National Director, the Human Resources Manager will play a key role in establishing and growing the HR function for this new startup ministry. This position is ideal for an experienced HR professional who is passionate about building organizational culture, developing policies, and recruiting talent to support a ministry’s mission. You can do so as either a volunteer or a supported missionary.
Responsibilities
- HR Strategy Development: Create and implement HR strategies aligned with the ministry’s vision and goals.
- Policy Development: Design and implement HR policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks to support and deliver on the ministry’s vision and goals.
- HR Administration: Designing and managing all HR documentation, maintaining accurate team member (volunteer and supported missionary) records, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Recruitment and Talent Acquisition: Develop and execute effective recruitment and selection methods, onboarding and induction procedures, and engagement processes to attract and retain top talent, and build RC employer brand awareness.
- Team Member Relations: Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, addressing team member concerns and resolving conflicts.
- Performance Management: Establish performance management systems to evaluate and enhance team member performance and delivery of key objectives.
- Training and Development: Identify training needs and create development programs to support team member growth.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Culture-Building: Promote the ministry’s values and culture through effective HR best practices.
- Community: Maintain healthy relationships with other Ratio Christi Canada team members.
- Report to the National Director.
Qualifications
- Mature Christian faith.
- Full agreement with our statement of faith, mission and vision, and core values.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field. The designation Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) is an advantage.
- 5-7 years of HR management experience, preferably in a not-for-profit, start-up, and/or ministry setting.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in HR software and tools. Experience in using PandaDoc would be an asset.
- High level of integrity and empathy.
- Ability to work well in a team as well as independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
