Ratio Christi Canada is pleased to announce that it has launched its very own online store! This project has been in the works for a while, and now it’s finally ready to roll out!
In addition to some other resources, the store will make the entire highly acclaimed Novum series of evangelism and apologetics booklets from Ratio Christi Press available for purchase in Canada, both in eBook and paperback formats.
Dr. Emily Pelley, Publications Coordinator for Ratio Christi Canada, was recruited in 2024 to oversee this long-awaited project, and she’s very excited about the final product. “We are so excited to be bringing the Ratio Christi booklets here to Canada,” says Pelley. “This collection of booklets is rich with information and wisdom for the many apologetics questions of our time.”
Equipping Canada
While the idea of launching an online store had been floating around for a while, actual plans began to be set in place when Pelley joined the Ratio Christi Canada team in the spring of last year. From then on, Ratio Christi Press was and continues to be fully supportive of this project and the opportunities it brings for the Canadian branch of the ministry.
Dr. Rich James, National Director of Publishing and Communications (Ratio Christi U.S.), was “thrilled” when he first heard the plan to open a store in Canada, seeing the great kingdom-building potential. “The Novum booklet series is unique,” says James. “There’s really nothing like them: recognized scholars addressing critical academic and cultural issues from a Christian worldview. To see their reach extending throughout Canada is both a publishing and kingdom breakthrough, and I’m excited to see a dedicated store that will increase their reach and influence.”
Generally written at a Grade 11 reading level and specially designed for both personal and group study, the Novum booklets are great for “personal growth, academic research, group studies, and more,” says Pelley. She further says the goal of the Ratio Christi Canada online store is “to make these resources available to Canadians at the most affordable rate possible.” And as more sales are made, we will eventually be able to bring down the prices even further.
Looking to the Future
Ratio Christi Canada has always been about reaching the lost and equipping Canadian Christians—especially young people—to better understand, share, and defend the Christian faith. The online store opens the door to new ways of doing so, especially as it allows us to get our resources into the hands of Canadians who live in regions where Ratio Christi Canada does not yet have a physical presence.
“I’m excited about the potential the online store holds for getting important resources like our Novum booklets into the hands of young people across Canada,” says Cody Guitard, National Director for Ratio Christi Canada. “It will also be a great way to spread the word about our ministry and get our foot in the door with more churches, high schools, and campuses across the country.”
As the student President for Ratio Christi at Crandall University, Evan Carr recognizes the importance of the online store and the resources it brings. “I’ve learned so much about apologetics and feel more confident defending my faith than ever before,” says Carr. “I’ve already read some of the resources from Ratio Christi Press, and they’re very helpful. So I’m excited that the Ratio Christi Canada store is launching so that all Canadians can have access to these resources, which are much-needed in this day and age.”
In addition to the Novum booklet series, the online store also currently houses a variety of evangelism and apologetics tracts, as well as a daily devotional through the Gospel of John. Moving forward, the plan will be to gradually introduce even more resources to the online store to help equip Canadian believers to grow in their faith and reach the lost.
